Megan Stein

is a writer, video editor, and filmmaker from the south who is based in New York City.

A filmmaking multi-hyphenate, Megan has worked behind the camera for clients like UCB Comedy, IFC, and PBS. As an editor, she has cut projects for Netflix, Disney, Food Network, Vice, Munchies, The Creators Project, and more.

Megan is a founding member of the Brooklyn-based film collective Video Mass, and has served as chair for several festivals and events designed to commission work from up-and-coming filmmakers. You can catch Megan discussing movies on MTV News and probably wherever she is right now.

With screenwriting partner Laura Grey, Megan founded the satirical women’s sketch group, LASH, at Upright Citizens Brigade in New York. Their comedy pilot, House of Delta, a political thriller set in a sorority, was developed by Universal Cable Productions. Their pilot, Social Service, was a finalist for NYTVF, Austin Film Festival, and the WGA’s Made in New York Writers Room. They also won the 2019 Screencraft Horror Contest with a pitch for their comedy horror feature, Getaway, which is basically what would happen if Predator dropped down at a Goop retreat in Belize.
